Mr. Cool ductless mini-split heating and cooling systems, including the DIY series designed for installation without requiring an HVAC technician or refrigerant handling license.

Mini-splits condition individual rooms or zones rather than a whole house through ductwork, which makes them a common choice for additions, garages, workshops, and homes without existing ducts. The DIY line uses pre-charged line sets that connect without brazing, which is the main thing that normally requires a licensed installer.

Size the unit to the square footage and insulation of the specific room it's heating or cooling — an oversized unit cycles on and off too quickly to dehumidify effectively, while an undersized one runs constantly without keeping up.
